The statistics given below are based on information extracted from the record books held in both hides. The first log entry in Hide No.1 (Lapwing) was made on 21st June 1999 and in Hide No.2 (Shelduck) on 9th June 1999. Observations took place at Wood Lane on 2693 days (92.2%) out of a total of 2921 available days between 1st January 2000 and 31st December 2007. Between 9th June 1999 and 30th April 2008 175 different bird species have been recorded at the Wood Lane Nature Reserve. From 1st January 2007 to 31st December 2007 115 different bird species were recorded. From 1st January 2006 to 31st December 2006 118 different bird species were recorded. From 1st January 2005 to 31st December 2005 122 different bird species were recorded. From 1st January 2004 to 31st December 2004 135 different bird species were recorded. From 1st January 2003 to 31st December 2003 135 different bird species were recorded. From 1st January 2002 to 31st December 2002 137 different bird species were recorded. From 1st January 2001 to 31st December 2001 125 different bird species were recorded. From 1st January 2000 to 31st December 2000 121 different bird species were recorded.
