The first log entry in Hide No.1 (Lapwing) was made on 21st June 1999 and in Hide No.2 (Shelduck) on 9th June 1999. 

Observations took place at Wood Lane on 312 days during 2012.

Between 9th June 1999 and 30th April 2013  184 different bird species have been recorded at the Wood Lane Nature Reserve. 

From 1st January 2012 to 31st December 2012 111 different bird species were recorded.

From 1st January 2011 to 31st Decenber 2011 110 different bird species were recorded

From 1st January 2010 to 31st December 2010 119 different bird species were recorded

From 1st January 2009 to 31st December 2009 107 different bird species were recorded

From 1st January 2008 to 31st December 2008 112 different bird species were recorded.

From 1st January 2007 to 31st December 2007 115 different bird species were recorded.

From 1st January 2006 to 31st December 2006 119 different bird species were recorded.

From 1st January 2005 to 31st December 2005 122 different bird species were recorded.

From 1st January 2004 to 31st December 2004 135 different bird species were recorded.

From 1st January 2003 to 31st December 2003 135 different bird species were recorded.

From 1st January 2002 to 31st December 2002 137 different bird species were recorded.

From 1st January 2001 to 31st December 2001 125 different bird species were recorded.

From 1st January 2000 to 31st December  2000 121 different bird species were recorded.

As of 6th October 2010 1,361 permits had been issued for access to the hides.  

As of 30th April 2013 the Wood Lane bird database contains 115,149 entries.
