Aims of the project as
expressed in the application

The
Project will extend participation by actively recruiting new volunteers.
It will also encourage landowners to become involved.

increases skills by offering training to volunteers who will also build
up practical knowledge.

improves quality of life by ensuring Whitchurch remains a water vole
stronghold and local people have a better understanding of this animal

Individuals - Viv Geen of Shropshire
Wildlife Trust and Clive Dean of
Shropshire County Council Conservation and Ranger Team.
Shropshire Biodiversity Partnership who provided the funding for the initial
training day on
2nd April 2006. The Bernard
Sunley Trust Endangered Species Fund - £3500 to support habitat improvement works on 5 or 6 sites identified from
the survey work Natural England - £1685 to
extend the habitat improvement work at Mossfields.
Clive Tate Memorial Fund - £200 to complete a new
pond adjacent to the brook at Greenfields Nature Reserve.
