PODCAST HELP

The Wood Lane podcasts are audio files in mp3 format  made available for downloading online.

Podcasts are only recommended for those using broadband due to the size of the files involved.

There are three ways to listen to a podcast.

  1. Streaming allows you to listen to a Wood Lane podcast almost at the same time as it is being delivered to your computer.  You don't have to wait for the audio file to be completely downloaded before you can start listening to it. Click HERE to select and listen to a Wood Lane podcast without the need to store the audio the file on your computer.

  2. Download the file and store it on your computer.  You can then listen to it whenever you wish using the systems inbuilt mp3 player or transfer the file to an external mp3 player.  To download the MP3 files direct to your computer right click on any of the listed episodes and then select 'Save Target As...'  This method ensures the audio file is available to you to play again even when the file has been removed from the remote server.  Click to HERE to view the listed episodes.

  3. Subscribe to a podcast.  This method ensures that each new episode will be recorded automatically on your computer until you unsubscribe.  The system used by iTunes is excellent for this purpose and the required software can be downloaded free of charge from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/   Once the free software is installed on your computer you will be able receive  the most recent episode and all future episodes  with automatic delivery  to your iTunes podcast playlist.  Past episodes can also be obtained  by clicking the 'Get' button.

The iTunes software will not work with Windows 98 or Windows ME

The iTunes method is highly recommended for those with an iPod or iPhone.  These portable devices allow a user to listen to the downloads when away from the computer.

If you have already installed the iTunes software the following link will take you directly to the Wood Lane podcast page within iTunes   allowing you to subscribe and if required obtain earlier broadcasts.
